Laika the Space Dog

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready to launch into space! ZooooooOOOOOM!
So, I've just won a science competition (woo, yay, clap, clap, whatever you want to do). Third out of four. I've got a graphic novel about Laika, the first dog to orbit the earth. I got interested. You know how interested I am in dogs, right?
Laika has an interesting life. I haven't really finished the book, but I've been researching through the net. So far, in my words, this is Laika (excuse my mistakes, if there are any in the story):

"Kudryavka (Little Curly) was named after her tail. This is one of Laika's Russian nicknames. Yes, Laika has a couple of nicknames that will be mentioned later on. The samoyed husky puppy's had a hard life. She was given to an irresponsible boy, who threw her away. The dog catchers got her, and the Russian space stuff adopted her. From my research, it was said that the staff adopted stray Moscow dogs, so they would be already used to hard life, like Laika. The dog catchers called her Zhuchka (Little Bug). The dog caretaker or something called Kudryavka Limonchik (Little Lemon). As noted in my book, young Laika was eager to please and patient. She faced her trainings, which is spinning in a small capsule. Finally, Laika orbitted the earth, being the first dog to do it, in Sputnik 2 (I think it's a rocket or a space craft) but sadly, she died in space. It is said that she likely overheated within hours after she launched."

There. That's really in my own words, with a little help from Wikipedia... :P
